OLED, in my opinion get just too dark, too dark on everything. With that being said, Pioneer Plasma still does somethings better, such as "near black" or shadow detail, accurate colors and motion handling. HDR and higher peak brightness over plasma, from my eyes, makes a difference. 4K TVs without HDR adds little to nothing to the experience over 1080p. But if the consumer electronic product has a bad build quality then less then 10 years or less then 5 years is possible.ĤK resolution was not a game changer for OLED, no it was not. Having an excellent quality pure sine wave UPS or good quality surge protector connected to ones equipment can help make them last 20+ years. All my family members home theater equipment is connected to pure sine wave Cyberpower 1500watt UPS power backup units. I know family members that have a couple of 12 year old 2008 Pioneer Elite SC-07 A/V receivers that still work flawlessly. Pioneer Elite Blu-ray players and Pioneer Elite A/V receivers have an excellent build quality with a 3 year warranty (engineered in Japan and assembled in China by automated machines). The Japanese company Pioneer assembled their high-end plasmas in the United States for many years, however most companies now have their electronics including displays assembled in South Korea, China, and sometimes Mexico to keep cost lower. Only the motion of the 2008 plasma is better when compared to a 2020 OLED screen. However, in the year 2016 OLED flat panels were overall better with 4K resolution, absolute deeper blacks then the 2008 Pioneer plasma, etc. The PRO-141FD and PRO-101FD had the best black levels and 2-D triple flash 72fps motion compared to any other plasma display. The Pioneer plasmas were engineered in Japan and assembled in the United States using high quality components from around the world.

The Elite Signature series has hand inspected parts to make sure the best parts were used. April 2009 was when all Pioneer plasmas went out of production in the United States since the plasma plant shut down (but most the last plasmas were made Jan or Feb of 2009 from what I understand).
The last manufacturing date for the July 2008 Pioneer plasma models was around April 2009. I have seen 3 PRO-141FD’s and 3 PRO-101FD’s still working flawlessly after almost 12 years (some have a October 2008 manufacturing date). I know of several people that have been using the 2008 Pioneer Elite Signature series PRO-141FD and PRO-101FD for almost 12 years and they still work flawlessly. Although I have a 65” LG OLED (calibrated of course!), the Pioneer just keeps on going strong. It's also worth noting that-because the Wiimote takes standard AA batteries-you could just invest in a rechargeable battery setup, from Energizer or one of its competitors.Same here. Alternately, the Penguin 4x Quad Charger is more expensive, but it can charge up to four Wii controllers at once. The Nyko version also retails for $5 to $10 less than the Energizer-branded model reviewed here. That unit offers a remarkably similar design, but its battery covers are rubberized, providing a firmer grip (if you aren't using the sleeves). If the Power & Play Charging System looks familiar, that's because it's very reminiscent of the Nyko Nintendo Wii Charge Station.

Unlike its PS3 counterpart, there are no USB ports, so you can't use it to charge other devices, such as a cell phone. The Energizer Power & Play Charging System isn't particularly fancy or well-built (by that, we mean it has a budget made-in-China feel to it), but it's more than adequate for its mission. If you left them in for long enough, they'd eventually even up-but that obviates the whole reason for the lights to begin with. But the lights seem to give us several false positives-unmounting and remounting a supposedly charged (green) controller back into charging (red) mode, and vice versa. The lights are supposed to show red for charging and green when topped off.
The other problem was the indicator lights underneath each charger. While the controllers sit fairly tightly in their cradles, there's just enough play that you might need to nudge each one back and forth a bit to make sure the charging connectors meet up. It took us about 4 hours to charge two controllers, but there were a couple of snags.
