It works by applying a bonus 50% EXP from however much you have stored whenever you gain EXP from an activity. You can tell if the buff is applied when a crescent moon symbol appears beside your EXP bar. This can be a city-state or any settlement with an aetheryte.

While it’s absolutely okay to stray from the beaten path and explore the game at your own pace, keep in mind that you won’t be able to unlock certain pieces of content until you reach them in the narrative. Most of the game’s content is locked behind story progression, so you won’t be able to fully utilize many of the other methods in this guide until you complete MSQ. If you find a job you really want to dedicate yourself to, use the MSQ to cruise all the way to Level 90. You can absolutely switch jobs from expansion to expansion, but if you haven’t leveled them up in advance, you’ll have to grind a bit before you can continue the story.
MSQ offers tons of EXP and tends to over-level you in some areas of the story. You don’t have to stick to a single job for the entirety of MSQ, but it can be a good idea if you’re playing through the game for the first time.
